Stop Smoking | The Easy Way!

Hypnotherapy is a well-known, popular method for helping people quit smoking.

Despite this, many are still curious if it works.

But the question is, does it really work?

If it does... Why does it work?
How does it work?

We will examine these questions.

             1. "Does hypnosis work to quit smoking?"

2001 study by the University of Washington’s School of Medicine,
showed that the success rate for using hypnosis as a tool to quit smoking was 91%

Another 1994 study published in Psychological Reports examined hypnotherapy’s effectiveness combined with aversion therapy. In the study, 93 male and 93 female participants underwent a cessation program combining both methods. After three months, nearly 90 percent of both groups were abstaining from smoking.

Other studies comparing hypnosis with nicotine replacement therapy shows that the group using hypnosis had a success rate higher than those still using nicotine.

An exhaustive research project by New Scientist Magazine identified hypnosis as the most effective way to quit smoking.

Finally, a comprehensive meta-analysis looked at more than 600 studies that examined various smoking cessation methods. More than 70,000 smokers were included in the analysis. Overall, the analysis found some compelling results for hypnosis:

Hypnosis was deemed two times more effective than self-care methods, like reading self-help books or quitting cold turkey.

Hypnosis was twice as effective as nicotine replacement therapy with nicotine gum.

Hypnosis was three times more effective than physician interventions that involved more than counseling.

These are only a few examples. There is much more scientific evidence for hypnosis as an effective method to quit smoking for those interested in doing their own research.

Hypnosis is often cited as the safest and most effective way to quit smoking.

             2. "Why does hypnosis work to quit smoking? / Why is it so much more effective than other methods?"

To explain why hypnosis works we must first explain the difference between the subconscious and the conscious minds:

While hard to measure precisely, many experts agree that up to 95% of what your brain activity is subconscious.
Your beliefs, behaviors, habits, permanent memory, and emotions reside in this subconscious (or unconscious) mind.
Consciousness, and our conscious thoughts - the part of us we fundamentally consider to be "us" - is about 5-10%, or less.
Your conscious mind is where your willpower, short-term memory, and decisions are controlled.

The disparity between your two minds (95% vs 5%) creates such an uphill battle for your conscious mind that any conflicts between your subconscious and your conscious mind will almost always end with your subconscious beliefs (or habits) winning.

This why you can't simply tell someone who smokes to "not smoke" just as much as you can't tell someone who is anxious to stop being anxious. Reminding a smoker how bad smoking is does nothing to stop them from continuing to smoke. Every smoker knows how bad the habit is bad for them. If you are a smoker, you know smoking stains your teeth, your fingernails, you know smoking makes your breath stink, makes you smell bad, it wastes money, it wastes time, and can cause diseases, or even death... Yet you continue to smoke because your smoking habit - and your beliefs about your habit - exist in your subconscious mind.

Hypnosis is the utilization of your subconscious mind to affect change.

             2. "How does hypnosis work to quit smoking?"

The divide between these minds is the critical factor, which acts like a filtration mechanism and decides automatically – out of our conscious control – what suggestions it wants to accept. This is often a good thing. If someone told you the sky was red and clouds were green the critical factor would immediately toss out such a suggestion. However, when you have ingrained beliefs that do not serve you, your critical factor can work against you, despite it trying to work in your best interests. This belief can be created instantly, (such as a fear from a car accident) or over time (such as a belief that a habit is necessary or cannot be broken.)

Understanding all of these complicated mental mechanisms and weaving them together in our sessions is how we - utilizing hypnosis - recognize that smoking is much more than merely a chemical addiction. Habits such as smoking stem from thoughts and beliefs deeply rooted in your subconscious. Hypnotherapy helps you get to the root of your desire to smoke and change it to a desire to become healthy, empowered and free.

You were born a non-smoker, and you can just as easily return to that non-smoking state. As you reconnect with your former mindset, you will discover that your desire for cigarettes fades into the past.

Quitting Smoking With Hypnosis Pays For Itself

We often think of the cost of our habits - whether it be smoking, junk food, or our daily coffee -
in terms of days or weeks. Not months, or years.

The average smoker in Canada spends about $400-$500 a month on their nicotine habit.
In a year, at the lower $400 estimate, that's $4,800!
Over the course of five years, that figure grows to $24,000!
Twenty years of smoking becomes $96,000!

This conservative estimate is not adjusted for inflation OR the ever-increasing taxes on cigarettes. This is just the monetary cost - you cannot put a price on your life.
However you CAN invest in your health!
With our easy, effective, and affordable stop-smoking program.
